I’m Richard Terrill, founder of RJT Building Consultants. My career in construction began more than 15 years ago as a mechanical plumber, where I developed a practical understanding of how buildings are constructed, how building systems work together, and the importance of quality workmanship. That hands-on experience continues to shape the way I approach every inspection today.

Building inspection is also a family tradition. I come from a family of experienced building inspectors, with my father-in-law, two brothers-in-law and uncle all working within the industry. While we each operate our own independent businesses, I’ve been fortunate to learn from years of combined knowledge and experience, helping me develop a thorough, practical and client-focused approach.

In 2022, after completing my Advanced Diploma of Building Surveying, I became a registered Building Inspector Limited and founded RJT Building Consultants. Since then, I’ve provided statutory building inspections, Owner Builder Section 137B Defect Reports, pool barrier inspections, BAL assessments and dilapidation reports throughout Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula.

RJT Building Consultants is proudly family owned and operated by my wife and me from Mornington, Victoria.
